Doron Langberg (Israeli, b. 1985)

Doron Langberg's (b. 1985; Yokneam Moshava, Israel) portraits present friends, lovers, and family members with a focus on love and desire as fundamental human experiences. Carefully rendered descriptions combine with loose, abstract passages to bring his subjects to life.

 

The artist has presented exhibitions internationally, including at the Leslie Lohman Museum, New York, NY; LSU Museum of Art, Baton Rouge, LA; Victoria Miro Gallery, London, UK; Schwules Museum, Berlin, Germany; Public Art Fund, New York, NY; Capsule, Shanghai, China, Project 68, Berlin, Germany; and Carl Friedman Gallery, Margate, UK. His work is in the permanent collections of the Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Museum. In 2019, he received the John Koch Award in Art. The artist currently lives and works in New York City.
